Show Personality to Personify Your Business

Your Instagram bio is like a business pitch - you have 150 characters to show what your business is all about, so make the most of it and add a little personality. Think about how you want to be perceived by your audience, the language and tone that will resonate with them the most. This is the time to show whatever it is that makes your business unique!

Hint - Adding personality can be as simple as adding a catchphrase, slogan or emojis that fit the personality of your business.

Add Contact Information

I think we can all agree how frustrating it is when you’re trying to get in contact with a company, but then having to go searching high and low for their contact information. You want to make it easy for existing (or potential) customers and clients to be able to reach you and adding your contact information to your bio is the best way to do that.

Hint - Switch to a Business Profile on Instagram so your contact details won’t take up any of your character space in your bio!

Show off your Creativity

Have some fun in your Instagram bio and show off your creativity - just because your Instagram is for your business, doesn’t mean it needs to be boring. This can be as simple as adding emojis to break up text-heavy sections or including a branded hashtag that will promote UGC (user-generated content).

Hint - Another easy way to spruce up your bio is to add line breaks so your bio is broken down into a list, bullet points, or smaller pieces of information that is easier for your followers to consume.

Include a link

Instagram only lets you add one link to your bio, so you want to use it well. This is where a strong CTA (call to action) becomes important. What is it that you want your followers to do? Do you want them to buy your products, download your ebook or book an appointment? Once you have that figured out, include a short and simple CTA that will encourage followers to click on the link.

Hint - The link is one of the most important traffic drivers on your profile, so make your CTA above your link stand out with emojis or capitals.
